This is an automated packaging solution that replaces the manual process of stacking and bagging Petri dishes with a system powered by three Cartesian (Gantry) robots.
By utilizing a combination of three Cartesian robots, the system performs continuous operations at high speeds. The linear design of these robots allows for a compact installation, making it ideal for facilities with limited floor space while maintaining high throughput.
Components
- Robot
Robot: 3 Cartesian Robots (Multi-Axis Linear Systems)
Robot 1: Product infeeding and precision stacking.
Robot 2: Packaging material (poly bags/sleeves) feeding.
Robot 3: Transferring the stacked products into the packaging unit.
Sealing Unit: High-speed thermal or ultrasonic sealer for airtight finishing.
Gripper System: Vacuum-based or soft-touch grippers designed to prevent scratches on transparent plastic.
Workflow
- STEP 1.
- Stacking: Products are stacked to a predefined count.
- STEP 2.
- Alignment: Ensuring the stack is perfectly vertical and centered.
- STEP 3.
- Material Infeed: Feeding the packaging film or sleeve.
- STEP 4.
- Positioning: Moving the product stack to the exact packaging coordinates.
- STEP 5.
- Opening: Automatically opening the mouth of the packaging material.
- STEP 6.
- Insertion: Pushing the product stack into the packaging sleeve.
- STEP 7.
- Sealing: Hermetically sealing the entrance of the package.
- STEP 8.
- Discharge: Moving the finished package onto the outfeed conveyor.
