This solution features a modular assembly line developed using Vention’s modular workstations, designed for easy integration into existing production processes and flexible reconfiguration. The system allows for the seamless rearrangement of peripheral workstations around a central assembly hub. By combining Vention’s belt-actuator-driven Range Extender with a collaborative robot, the line successfully automates part picking and assembly, utilizing a circulating pallet system for efficient material infeed and outfeed.

Components

Robot
  • Robot: Universal Robots UR5e

    • Type: 6-axis articulated collaborative robot

    • Payload: 5kg

    • Reach: 850mm

    • Weight: 20.6kg

    • Repeatability: ±0.03mm

  • Range Extender: Vention Belt Actuator (7th Axis)

  • Workstation: Vention Modular Frame System

Workflow

STEP 1.
Recognition: Parts are identified using a vision camera.
STEP 2.
Picking: The robot picks up the identified parts.
STEP 3.
Assembly: Parts are assembled with components delivered via the circulating pallet.
STEP 4.
Pickup: The robot picks up the fully assembled workpiece.
STEP 5.
Discharge: The finished assembly is moved to the discharge area.
