This solution automates the process of packing products into boxes and subsequently palletizing them by integrating Epson’s VT6L 6-axis robot, Epson’s T6 SCARA robot, and Vention’s Range Extender with MachineMotion controller.

The Epson T6 SCARA robot efficiently handles the high-speed task of transferring products into boxes. Meanwhile, the Epson VT6L 6-axis robot, mounted on Vention’s Range Extender, performs palletizing across a significantly expanded workspace. This combination allows for a seamless transition from primary packaging to end-of-line palletizing within a single automated cell.

Components

Robot
  • Robot 1: Epson VT6L

    • Type: 6-axis articulated robot (Weight: 40kg)

    • Payload: 6kg

    • Repeatability: ±0.1mm

  • Robot 2: Epson T6

    • Type: SCARA robot (Weight: 22kg)

    • Payload: 6kg

    • Repeatability: ±0.04mm

  • System Extension: Vention Range Extender & MachineMotion Controller

    • Function: Physically expands the robot's reach to cover multiple pallet positions.

Workflow

STEP 1.
Infeed: Products are fed into the system for the initial packing stage.
STEP 2.
Box Picking: The robot secures and prepares the boxes for loading.
STEP 3.
Cross-Unloading (Palletizing): The 6-axis robot stacks the filled boxes onto the pallet using a cross-pattern (interlocking) method for maximum stability.
