This automation solution replaces manual reel tape packaging processes by integrating the AIM FlexiBowl (flexible parts feeder) with Epson SCARA robots.
AIM helps people focus on higher-value tasks by perfectly solving the simple, repetitive labor often avoided in manufacturing environments. This system addresses labor shortages and boosts manufacturing competitiveness by providing a solution capable of tireless, precise, and infinite repetition through robotic technology.
Components
- Robot
Robot: EPSON SCARA Robot (LS Series)
Optimized for high-speed, high-precision pick-and-place tasks.
Adaptability: Depending on specific work conditions, the system can be configured with robots from other leading brands such as ABB, Staubli, Fanuc, or UR (Universal Robots).
Feeder: AIM FlexiBowl
A versatile feeding system that handles parts of various shapes without the need for custom mechanical vibration bowls.
Workflow
- STEP 1.
- Parts Feeding: Bulk components are supplied onto the FlexiBowl surface.
- STEP 2.
- Vibration & Flipping: The FlexiBowl uses vibration to spread the parts and flip those that are oriented incorrectly.
- STEP 3.
- Vision Recognition: An integrated vision system identifies the precise coordinates and orientation of each part.
- STEP 4.
- Robot Transfer: The Epson SCARA robot picks the identified parts and transfers them precisely into the reel tape pockets.
