This application case demonstrates a CNC lathe machine-tending demonstration process utilizing the Universal Robots UR10 and the OnRobot 3FG15 gripper.

By leveraging a 3-finger gripper with a wide stroke, the system can be optimized for CNC lathe machining across a variety of product sizes, ensuring stable and centered handling of cylindrical workpieces.

Components

Robot
  • Robot: Universal Robots UR10

    • Type: 6-axis collaborative robot

    • Payload: 10kg / Reach: 1,300mm

    • Repeatability: ±0.1mm / Weight: 28.9kg (IP54 rated)

  • End-Effector: OnRobot 3FG15

    • Type: Three-finger electric gripper

    • Key Feature: Large 150mm stroke and self-centering capability for round objects.

Workflow

STEP 1.
Pickup & Loading: The robot picks the raw material and loads it into the CNC chuck.
STEP 2.
Machining: The CNC lathe performs the programmed machining process.
STEP 3.
Discharge: The robot unloads the finished part from the machine and places it in the output area.
